JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Jaguars are moving from tarps to pools. The Jaguars provided a hard-hat tour of their $63 million stadium renovation Tuesday, showing off the worlds largest scoreboards, a pair of wading pools and a two-story party deck that will include 20 all-inclusive cabanas. Jacksonville removed 9,500 chair-back seats to make room for the new construction in the north end zone. That allowed the team to remove 12 of 16 tarps around EverBank Field. The tarps have been an eyesore for years and essentially made the Jaguars the brunt of jokes. Maybe more importantly for a small-market franchise trying to change perception after years of futility, the covered sections wont be seen on television. The Jaguars will unveil the scoreboards and cabanas at a Carrie Underwood concert July 26. Already, the team has sold 65 per cent of its cabanas for the 2014 season. Cabana seating is sold out for three home games: against Pittsburgh (Oct. 5), against the New York Giants (Nov. 30) and against Houston (Dec. 7). "Were trying to give fans a compelling reason to leave the comfort of their homes and to come and watch the Jaguars in person," Jaguars president Mark Lamping said. "We have to make sure the experience, when people spend their hard-earned money, is really good. But more importantly, it is unique and distinctly different than what you can get at home." The Jaguars are selling 12 upstairs cabanas for $3,000 a game, with a maximum of 20 people in each suite. The price includes all-you-can-eat food and all-you-can-drink beer, wine and soda. The eight downstairs cabanas -- the only tickets that include pool access -- are going for $12,500 a game, with a maximum of 50 people in each suite. Those also are all-inclusive. Throw in 120 bar-rail seats located in the north end zone and adjacent to the pools, and the Jaguars have completely changed the look and feel of their 20-year-old stadium. Those bar-rail seats cost $150 a game and include food and drinks. "This starts to give our building character, gives our building a personality that fits this market," said Chad Johnson, the teams senior vice-president of ticket sales. "Were in a great warm-weather market where water, beaches, the river are all part of it. So this incorporates not only whats local, but it incorporates a high-end beach resort. You go to a high-end beach report and sit in a cabana, what do you have there? You have the luxury of the beach but the ability to pull away from it with comfort of shade, fans, televisions that you cant get with your chair parked in that sand. "It gives a mix of the two experiences. At the end of the day that football game is what were here to see, but they can experience it in a different way." Jacksonville increased capacity inside its "fan cave" from 400 to more than 600, giving anyone with a ticket access to the Internet and televisions in an air conditioned area overlooking the south end zone. The team also redesigned a section of club seats, adding tables and four swivel chairs to create a sports-bar atmosphere. Finally, the team added 180 field-level seats, providing fans an up-close look that closely resembles basketball or hockey. "Were trying to make sure we have a sustainable franchise here in Jacksonville, a team that is sustainable from a financial standpoint, a team that is sustainable from an on-field performance standpoint, which means a consistently competitive team." Lamping said. "And everything were doing is designed to support that." The pools have gotten the most attention. They are 25 feet long, 12 feet wide and 3 1/2 feet deep. Lifeguards will be in attendance, and the pools will have a glass front that overlooks the field. "From inside the seating bowl, youll be able to see into the pool," Lamping said. "This has been probably the most talked about of our enhancements. Its just one small part of what were doing, but its pretty meaningful. What weve really tried to do is give EverBank Field a unique personality and a personality thats legitimately north Florida, legitimately Jacksonville, and how do you do that without integrating water?" The Kings loss was the most recent game for the Raptors.ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - The Denver Broncos have switched kickers again, waiving first-year pro Brandon McManus and signing Connor Barth, who hasnt kicked in an NFL game since 2012.Barth, 28, won a competition with 38-year-old Jay Feely at the Broncos complex in suburban Denver on Tuesday. The Broncos were in the market for a new kicker after McManus clanked a 33-yard field goal off the right upright in Denvers 39-36 win over Miami on Sunday. His miss followed a seven-minute drive that stalled when Peyton Manning tripped on third-and-1 from the 7 for a sack.Cameras caught several of McManus angry teammates throwing their helmets in disgust when the Broncos came away empty. That blunder came on the heels of a game in St. Louis where the Broncos passed up field goal attempts of 54 and 55 yards indoors.Obviously, Im disappointed in being released, but I thank the Broncos for giving me the opportunity to play for such a great organization and team, McManus said in a text to The Associated Press. Not too happy with myself with how I went out missing that FG against the Dolphins, but will only use it as motivation to get better and come back better than before, McManus added. Ive been set back before and I will get back up and play in this league again.McManus longest field goal was from 44 yards, and he didnt really get the chance for a pressure kick for the AFC West-leading Broncos. While solid on kickoffs, McManus was 9 for 13 on field goal attempts. His 69.2 per cent conversion rate was dead last among NFL kickers, ranking ahead of only Nate Freese and Alex Henery, both of whom were released by Detroit earlier this season.Barth, who spent four of his five seasons in Tampa Bay, has plenty of experience in crunch time, although not for a team with quite the Super Bowl aspirations of the Broncos (8-3).Barth has made 84 per cent of his career field goal tries. He was the most accurate kicker in Buccaneers history but missed all of llast season after tearing the Achilles tendon in his right foot during a charity basketball game.dddddddddddd He returned this year but was beaten out by rookie Patrick Murray. In his last season in Tampa Bay, Barth made 85 per cent of his kicks and was 6 of 9 from 50-plus and 12 of 13 from 40-49 yards. The Broncos had the leagues best kicker last year in Pro Bowler Matt Prater, who made 25 of 26 field goal tries, including an NFL- record 64-yarder against Tennessee. He had a poor preseason, however, and was suspended four games for violating the leagues drug policy by drinking alcohol. The Broncos acquired McManus from the Giants for a seventh-round draft pick in 2015. They decided to keep him over Prater, who subsequently signed with Detroit, where hes made 12 of 16 field goal attempts. At the time, the Broncos said they liked McManus strong leg and high ceiling. But the decision to part ways with Prater also had to do with money. They saved nearly $2.3 million off this years cap and $3.25 million off next years with Praters release. There was some speculation the Broncos could sign a veteran kicker but still keep McManus as a kickoff specialist — his 48 touchbacks on kickoffs ranked second in the league. That would have meant finding a roster spot elsewhere and injuries have thinned the teams depth.Barth wasnt used on kickoffs by the Bucs in 2011 or 12 and in 2010 he had just one touchback on 78 kickoffs for Tampa Bay.McManus is not unlike many young kickers who stumble in the pros before finding a foothold. What made his situation different is that he was playing for a team on a Super Bowl-or-bust mission. Were a performance-based business and regardless of what your job description is youre expected to perform, coach John Fox said Monday.___AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP_NFL___Follow AP Pro Football Writer Arnie Melendrez Stapleton on Twitter: http://twitter.com/arniestapletonCheap Throwback Baseball Detroit Tigers JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball Colorado Rockies JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball Houston Astros JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball Kansas City Royals JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball Los Angeles Angels JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball Los Angeles Dodgers JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball Miami Marlins JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball Milwaukee Brewers JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball Minnesota Twins JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball New York Mets JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball New York Yankees JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball Oakland Athletics JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball Philadelphia Phillies JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball Pittsburgh Pirates JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball San Diego Padres JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball San Francisco Giants JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball Seattle Mariners JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball St. Louis Cardinals JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball Tampa Bay Rays JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball Texas Rangers JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball Toronto Blue Jays JerseysCheap Throwback Baseball Washington Nationals Jerseys ' ' '
