The stylish and travel-friendly BR 05 GMT changes from black to cream.
A few years ago, Bell & Ross launched the BR 05 collection, introducing a new style to their rather iconic square meter watch. This collection of sports watches has a softer look and feel, but still retains the square design concept and is positioned as an everyday watch for an active urban lifestyle. The collection includes automatic time and date, automatic chronograph and travelable GMT, all between 40 and 42 mm in diameter. The latest addition to the BR 05 collection is this white dial version, aptly named the Bell & Ross BR 05 GMT White.
From a design standpoint, mechanically, nothing has changed from the Bell & Ross BR 05 GMT. It's still housed in a square stainless steel case measuring 41mm in diameter. The height is relatively modest at 11.1mm, including the sapphire crystal. The rounded case is brushed on all four sides, and the case and bezel edges have broad polished bevels. The latter is held in place with four function screws. A pair of guards protect the crown from unwanted bumps.
The biggest change to the BR 05 GMT White is the creamy white dial instead of the original black dial. Aesthetically, this shows the 3/6/12/12 hour numerals in the same iconic style, swapped with the stick hour markers. It also has the same set of hands, all with Super-LumiNova luminous coating. The central GMT hand stands out with its bright red triangular tip. The angled 24-hour ring is now available in silver and white to connect the case and dial. The date is displayed through a framed window at 3 o'clock.
The sapphire crystal caseback (also a circle within a square) shows the BR-CAL.325 automatic movement. Based on a Sellita SW 330, it runs at 28,800vph and uses 25 gems. Powered by full-size skeletonized rotors, it has a maximum run time of 42 hours. It displays central hours, minutes and seconds, displays the date, and allows you to set the central GMT hand independently via the crown.
The new Bell & Ross BR 05 GMT White features the same brushed and polished stainless steel bracelet as the rest of the BR 05 collection. This tapers from the sloping lug side of the case to the folding clasp, connected by a large polished center link. As an alternative, Bell & Ross also offers a grooved black rubber strap, also with a folding clasp.
