With a SIM (subscriber identity module) card or portable wireless router offered by China Telecom, people are allowed to surf online and use social platforms on WeChat or Facebook during trips to overseas regions.


Previously, international roaming fees have always been a concern for users, since they can cost them hundreds or even thousands of yuan.


“It helps us improve global brand awareness and boost overseas revenue,” said Ou Yan, China Telecom’s vice director of international business.
